It should pay off to be a good tenant
Bofrid is a Swedish marketplace for subletting. We connect trustworthy tenants with landlords, and we're out to change the Swedish rental market.
Our story
Three guys from Kåge and Svedjan who quit secure jobs to go all-in on Bofrid. We were tired of a rental market with no feedback and no chance to show who you are. So we set out to build something better.
Our vision
We want to change the Swedish rental market, and eventually expand across the Nordics. A market where being responsible pays off, where tenants can show who they are with income details, references, and BankID, and where landlords can trust they'll find the right person. When a landlord publishes a listing, matches appear instantly, potential tenants who fit the home. Think of the dating app Hinge, but instead of love you find your next tenant. As a tenant you create a profile with your preferred area, rent level, and household size, and verify yourself with documents like a credit report, references, and an employment contract. The more you share, the safer and more attractive you appear.
The founders
We're Philip Rönnmark and William Wiklund from Kåge, and Oskar Hellström from Södra Svedjan. Despite secure jobs at big companies, one day we walked out of the office and never came back, to bet everything on our dream. It's the best decision we've made. The journey has been anything but easy. We often work twelve hours a day and learn everything along the way: AI, law, negotiation, customer service, and sales. Today Bofrid is all over Sweden, from Skellefteå and Umeå to Stockholm and Glemmingebro, with around 10,000 tenants and more than 1,000 landlords. Our office is by Zinkensdamm in Stockholm, next door to Skellefteå's proud Svedjan bakery. It should pay off to be a good tenant. Simple as that.
